The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has launched a nationwide pop-up exhibit highlighting the lives, achievements, and enduring contributions of the country’s former vice presidents, as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the institution.
One of the major installations opened in Quezon City, Metro Manila, where visitors were given the opportunity to explore photographs, historical information, and stories of leadership that shaped the nation’s political landscape.
In her message, Vice President Sara Z. Duterte underscored the importance of honoring the legacy of each vice president who has served the Filipino people.
“We are proud to dedicate the nationwide pop-up exhibits to you. These exhibits, now running in major cities, are our way of ensuring that every Filipino appreciates the depth of each Vice President's legacy. It is with that spirit of dedicated service that we turn to the present.”
Participants of the You Can Be VP youth program were also given a tour of the Quezon City exhibit, providing them with a deeper understanding of constitutional history and public service.
In Davao City, the opening ceremony was led by OVP Chief of Staff and Undersecretary Atty. Zuleika Lopez, together with city officials and representatives from China, Japan, and Malaysia. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the display.
Satellite Lead for the OVP–Southern Mindanao Satellite Office Regina Rose Tecson emphasized the exhibit's role in honoring past leaders while inspiring future ones: “As we mark the Office of the Vice President’s 90th anniversary, we open this pop-up exhibit a tribute to the 14 Vice Presidents who have served our nation across nine decades of constitutional history.”
Oscar Casaysay, Officer-in-Charge of the Davao Culture and Arts Office, echoed this message, highlighting the journey and challenges of the vice presidency: “This exhibit which you are about to walk through is a visual testament to that legacy it moves beyond dates and names to show you the evolution of the vice presidency. This exhibit is a reminder that the Office of the Vice President is not merely a general position, it is a pillar of democracy.”
The initiative is part of a broader nationwide rollout, with simultaneous pop-up exhibits also launched in Bacolod City, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Cauayan City, Isabela and Zamboanga City, Western Mindanao.
These exhibits aim to bring history closer to communities across the Philippines, ensuring that the stories and legacies of the country’s vice presidents remain accessible and appreciated by Filipinos from all walks of life.
