OVP Disaster Operations Center (DOC) swiftly responds to the families affected by Mt. Kanlaon's Eruption.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has extended relief assistance to the families affected by the eruption of Kanlaon Volcano in Negros on January 15.
The OVP Disaster Operations Center (DOC), in partnership with the Canlaon City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), spearheaded the distribution of relief packs across various towns in Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental.
According to data from the OVP Disasters Operations Center and the OVP Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office, more than 10,000 received rice assistance, including 4,065 affected residents from Canlaon City, 848 from Bago City, 3,934 from La Castellana, 1,094 from La Carlota City, 246 from the Municipality of Pontevedra, and 562 from the Municipality of Murcia.
The relief efforts provided rice and bottled water to evacuees in need.
The resources were sourced from the remaining funds of the OVP and donations from private organizations and individuals.
This initiative is part of the OVP’s commitment to addressing the needs of communities affected by natural disasters.

Pinangunahan ng OVP Disaster Operations Center (DOC), katuwang ang Canlaon City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), ang pamamahagi ng mga relief packs sa iba’t ibang bayan sa Negros Oriental at Negros Occidental.
Batay sa datos mula sa OVP-DOC at sa OVP Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office, mahigit 10,000 ang nakatanggap ng handog na bigas, kabilang ang 4,065 residente mula sa lungsod ng Canlaon, 848 mula sa lungsod ng Bago, 3,934 mula sa La Castellana, 1,094 mula sa lungsod ng La Carlota, 246 mula sa bayan ng Pontevedra, at 562 mula sa bayan ng Murcia.
