The Office of the Vice President – Caraga Satellite Office, in collaboration with dedicated volunteers and partner agencies, took part in a meaningful tree planting activity, contributing to environmental conservation and community development efforts.
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) – Caraga Satellite Office spearheaded a large-scale tree planting activity in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur wherein a total of 25,103 indigenous tree seedlings were planted at the Arboretum Cum Rest and Recreation Area in Sitio Puerto, Barangay Maharlika last March 29.
The initiative gathered support from various stakeholders, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection, students, and other community members. The event underscores a collaborative approach in addressing environmental challenges and nurturing the ecosystem for future generations.
This tree planting activity forms part of the OVP's ongoing "PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners and Trees" campaign. The campaign not only seeks to advance educational opportunities but also emphasizes the critical importance of environmental stewardship.
The event also coincided with significant global observances – the International Day of Forests, the International Day of Water, and the International Day of Biological Diversity, further highlighting the broader significance of the initiative.
The OVP's 10 satellite offices across the country continue to actively engage in similar activities, underscoring their commitment to raising awareness on the importance of environmental protection. Through such efforts, the OVP aims to inspire communities to take proactive steps in safeguarding natural resources and ensuring a sustainable future for the next generations.
As the campaign gains momentum, the OVP encourages more organizations and individuals to participate in initiatives that contribute to environmental preservation and the fight against climate change.

Ang inisyatiba ay bahagi sa nagpapatuloy na PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign ng OVP at sa selebrasyon ng International Day of Forest, International Day of Water, at International Day of Biological Diversity.
